Dear Lambda Alpha members,

 

Your friendly Area Coordinator is in charge of the Area 18 Workshop, to be held this year on Saturday, September 11, at an Area 18 location to be determined.  I'm soliciting volunteers to help me with this task.

 

A bit of background information to make sure everyone knows what we are talking about.  An Area Workshop (AW) is held in even numbered years (after chapters get new officers and committee members).  Each of the 18 Areas in Texas holds its own workshop for chapter members in that area.  The purpose of the AW is to train new officers and committee members in the responsibilities of their offices/committees and to give suggestions for how those responsibilities may be carried out.  The presenters are usually people from our Area that are on state committees or are state officers.  A second purpose is to meet and socialize with members of other chapters within our area.  Many ideas are passed from member to member in this way.  You really feel you are a part of a larger group when you meet these new friends at another DKG function later on.
