Every Delta Kappa Gamma member is a key woman educator. The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary society of women educators. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education.

Established in 1929, Delta Kappa Gamma has attained major objectives in improving opportunities for qualified women employed at every level of education as well as in advancing the status of women educators. To this end, the PURPOSES set forth by the Founders continue to embody the spirit of the Society. The Purposes continue to be as valid in today's contemporary world as when first adopted:

Lambda Alpha Chapter members subscribe to these Purposes and always for excellence in education. Past and future efforts of the chapter to be of service to education can be seen in last years "Mentoring Program"

Chapter members recently attended the 79th Alpha State Convention in The Woodlands, Texas. The theme was “A Kaleidoscope of People, Passions, Possibilities. A quick view of the Photo Gallery page will show the fun and excitement that was shared by all. A a special thanks goes to the hard working committee members lead by past president Chris Morrison and new president Clara Reimers, for the wonderful Birthday Luncheon table decorations and other convention duties. The forty-four Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Special Interests workshops were excellent. Lambda Alpha Chapter members will get another opportunity to attend workshops with the September 20, 2008, Area Meeting, to be held at Lone Star College in Kingwood.
